2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe Revealed | Price, Specs & Release Date

BMW have updated the popular BMW 2 Series Coupe ready for launch in early 2022. New changes include increased power, more technology and a brand new design.

The 2022 BMW 2 Series features:

2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe revealed

A crowd favourite, the BMW 2 Series Coupe has been given a facelift for 2022. This time it comes with an all-new redesign of the cars exterior body. As well as some brand new onboard technology on the inside to make everyday driving safer.

Exterior

The new 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupes most notable changes are on the outside. It has a fresh new look with most of the changes targeting better aerodynamics and less wind resistance. The new 2 Series has a brand new 'active air flap' control system for the kidney grilles, which is adjustable through ten different stages and significantly alters the look of the front end.

It has an all-new lower air intake design, air curtains, aerodynamic door handles, optimised light-alloy wheels and an almost completely sealed underbody to allow air to flow straight under effectively. It also has turning vanes and splitters at the front of the underbody which allows the new 2 Series to deflect a certain amount of air to reduce lift on acceleration. 

Dimensions wise, the new 2 Series is slightly longer than the previous and is closer to the ground (by 28mm) as well. The car is slightly wider than the previous one which BMW says helps cornering dynamics.

The rear of the new 2 Series is dramatically different from previous models. It features a brand new structure for the rear lights as well a new rear splitter design and sweeping new lines.

Interior

The Interior has been designed to be ergonomically comfortable but driver-focused at all times. The digital cockpit design features BMW Operating System 7, which is the latest software and has been configured to be easy and intuitive to use with the centre infotainment system.

The BMW controller, gear selection lever, driving experience controller, start/stop button and other features are all neatly placed within the same control panel on the centre console. The M Sport model comes with comfortable heated sports seats, which are electronically adjustable. 

As with all BMW's, the quality and feel of the cabin is exquisite. With high-quality materials used across the whole cabin design and carefully executed details make the interior feel like it has been perfectly tailored to the driver.

2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe release date
