Meet The All-new 2023 BMW M3 CS Performance Car
The 2023 BMW M3 CS is BMW's latest ultra-sporty performance car featuring an M TwinPower Turbo straight-six 3.0-litre engine that produces 550hp.
BMW has brought back the CS badge for the G80-gen M3 and it's a corker, to say the least. Featuring the highest-level driving dynamics possible, a bespoke and intelligently designed lightweight chassis and a 550hp straight-six 3.0-litre engine, the new M3 CS is the ultimate high-performance car.
Featuring an M xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, the 2023 BMW M3 CS is capable of going from 0 to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds. It comes with the M Driver’s Package as standard, which means it's capable of doing 188mph top speed instead of the usual 155mph limit.
BMW has given the 2023 M3 CS a price tag of £116,000, which is £39,000 more than a brand-new BMW M3 Competition, which means you're getting around a 40hp increase for those extra £££.
But it's not just the extra horsepower you're getting. Pretty much everything has been updated for the hardcore M3 CS, including a thorough suspension overhaul, recalibrated adaptive dampers, an updated electronic stability control system, reinforced cast-aluminium chassis bracing and new spring rates for the updated suspension.
It's also got a small weight reduction of around 20kg. Every little bit of weight reduction helps in these track-focused sports cars. They've managed to do this by replacing a lot of sections of the car with lightweight carbon fibre. Sections such as the bonnet, roof, rear spoiler, mirror caps, front air intakes and rear diffuser. They've also replaced the exhaust system with a titanium rear silencer, which is 4kg lighter than the M3 Competitions. Neat.
Looking inside, you get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment display. They're both placed side by side so it looks like one big screen. Both displays run BMW's iDrive 8 system which is quick to load and easy to use. Of course, the interior is caked with 'CS' badges to remind you of the £116,000 car you are currently driving.
You also get an Alcantara-clad steering wheel and carbon fibre all over including the centre console, doors and racing bucket seats.
On the exterior, you get 20-inch competition alloys at the rear and 19-inch on the front. They come in a track-focused version of the MP4S (Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S) tyres, which we would imagine gives you maximum grip on those dry track days. You also get some unique front light clusters too, as they illuminate yellow instead of white, which is a throwback to BMW's GT racing cars of the past.
When can I order the 2023 BMW M3 CS?
The 2023 BMW M3 CS will be available to order from March 2023.
How many 2023 BMW M3 CS cars will be available?
Not many. As they are fairly costly cars they will not be manufactured on a large scale. The recent BMW M4 CSL was capped at 1,000 units to be manufactured. This should give you an idea of how many the 2023 BMW M3 CS may have. Hint: something similar!
