Out With A Bang: The Last Naturally-Aspirated V12 Lamborghini's

Featuring 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engines, the Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica are final send-offs before hybridisation kicks in. Lambo really means it this time too.

There were obviously a few spare parts knocking around the Lambo factory, as we now have a pair of two new hypercars signalling the end of the naturally-aspirated V12 era. Officially, production models using the 6.5-litre NA V12 engine ended in September 2022 with the LP 780-4 Ultimae, but now Lambo has these last two cars to send the NA motor off.

Will they be the last? Lambo seems to be pretty serious this time, as the hybrid Aventador hyper is around the corner, which will feature a V12 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) motor.

The two final models come in the form of the Lamborghini Invencible Coupe and the Autentica Roadster. They are both built using the Aventadors carbon-fibre monocoque structure, which means they are incredibly lightweight.

Of course, they will ship with the 6.5-litre 12-cylinder engine mounted longitudinally in the rear and will be the final two cars from Lambo to do so. Featuring 769bhp and 531 lb-ft of torque, they will do 0-60mph sub 3 seconds easily. All the power is delivered to the all-wheel-drive system via a seven-speed ISR gearbox.

Lambo keeps things minimal within the interior, doing away with the infotainment system and offering 3D-printed air vents and an interior draped in carbon fibre.

There is no information regarding production unit count or cost yet. But you can expect these final models to cost over £500,000, as they will be limited editions and more than likely minimally produced to keep that exclusivity present.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chief Executive Officer of Lamborghini says:

"As we head towards embracing a new era of hybridisation at the heart of our 'Cor Tauri' strategy, this is the Lamborghini way of celebrating the naturally aspirated V12 with two one-off vehicles that perfectly represent our concept of excellence in personalisation"

If this really is the final death knell for the NA V12 Aventador, it's had a good 11 years run. We're certainly interested to see what the hybrid version can pull off too.
