Third Generation 2024 VW Tiguan Now Available To Order

The recently launched third-generation 2024 Tiguan SUV, Volkswagen's best-selling model globally, is now open for orders in the UK.

Sporting a completely revamped appearance inspired by recent Volkswagen models, the new Tiguan features innovative IQ. LED headlights framing a glass-covered horizontal bar with an optional integrated LED strip, deviating from the traditional radiator grille.

Optional advanced IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, developed in conjunction with the new Touareg, are also on offer.

Enhancing aerodynamics, active air curtains at the sides work in harmony with the vehicle's sleek lines, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.295 – a 15% improvement from the previous model.

With athletic shoulder sections above wheels ranging up to 20 inches, the distinctive Tiguan rear end now includes an optional horizontal LED strip.

Beneath its refined exterior, the new Tiguan boasts a wealth of innovative features.

Constructed on the latest iteration of Volkswagen Group's successful modular transverse matrix platform, MQB-evo, it facilitates the inclusion of various new systems and serves as the basis for the upcoming ninth-generation Passat.

The interior showcases a sleek digital cockpit based on the fourth-generation (MIB4) modular infotainment matrix, featuring a 12.9-inch central display. Introducing a plethora of digital services and apps, along with an enhanced system menu and operating concept, the Tiguan also offers an optional larger 15-inch screen.

Adding to the interior's appeal, a new multi-function driving experience switch with an integrated OLED display has been incorporated. This rotary control, complete with its mini screen, manages driving profiles, radio volume, and cabin lighting colours.

Emphasizing comfort, the MQB-evo platform allows for the optional DCC Pro adaptive chassis control on petrol, eHybrid, and mild hybrid models.

Working with the Vehicle Dynamics Manager, a first for the Tiguan, it regulates electronic differential locks (XDS) and shock absorbers, resulting in improved handling characteristics.

Safety is enhanced through increased rear axle stability, while the electromechanical power steering's new configuration contributes to the Tiguan's agility and comfort.

New ergoActive seats with pneumatic four-way lumbar adjustment and a 10-chamber pressure massage function (available on Elegance and R-Line) complement the high-tech running gear.

Additionally, a programming function enables automatic activation of seat heating or ventilation based on outside temperatures.

Volkswagen UK's Product Manager for Tiguan, James Russell, commented,

"All these features make the new Tiguan one of the most modern mid-sized SUVs on the market," highlighting its redesigned interior, high-quality materials, and optional 15-inch display and IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights.

Trims, engines, and prices for the new Tiguan

The new Tiguan is offered in four trims: Tiguan, Life, Elegance, and R-Line.

Customers can select from a range of powertrains, including two mild petrol hybrids (130 and 150 PS), a turbocharged 2.0 TDI diesel engine (150 PS), and, coming in the spring, two plug-in eHybrid models (204 and 272 PS).

Additionally, two turbocharged 2.0 TSI petrol engines (204 and 265 PS) are expected towards the end of 2024.

The eHybrids provide an extended pure-electric range of about 100 km (62 miles), making the new Tiguan an all-electric option for most UK road trips.

The mild hybrids utilize Active Cylinder Management (ACTplus) for emissions-free coasting by deactivating the 1.5 TSI evo engine when conditions permit.

All models come equipped with an automatic direct-shift gearbox (DSG), and 4MOTION all-wheel drive will be standard on the 204 and 265 PS petrol engines upon their arrival.
