The Volkswagen Golf Mk8 is getting a new trim added to the lineup - the 'Black Edition'. This trim gives you new alloys and both interior and exterior changes.
Volkswagen is introducing an extra touch of sophistication, performance, and exclusivity to its lineup with the launch of the fresh Golf Mk8 Black Edition, set to hit the market starting September 7th.
Positioned squarely between the R-Line and GTE models, the Golf Black Edition comes brimming with captivating and unique attributes, staying true to the renowned Volkswagen Black Edition style. The Black Edition trim has already been seen on popular cars like the Touareg, T-Cross, T-Roc and the Up!
Setting it apart from the R-Line variant, the Golf Black Edition boasts striking 18-inch black 'Bergamo' alloy wheels, a distinct feature exclusive to this particular Golf edition in the UK.
Furthermore, it offers a Winter Pack, a rear-view camera, and a Black Style Package. The latter comprises an illuminated strip running between the headlights, recessed and illuminated door handles, black exterior mirror housings, and LED Plus headlights.
Inside, sporty front seats, tinted rear glass, R-Line body-coloured bumpers, and ambient lighting with an array of 30 colour choices contribute to the Golf Black Edition's eye-catching aesthetics.
Under the hood, the Golf Black Edition presents consumers with a choice of three cutting-edge powertrain options, each delivering impressive performance, refined engineering, and exceptional efficiency. The following choices are:
1) A 1.5 TSI 150 PS petrol with a six-speed manual gearbox
2) A 1.5 eTSI 150 PS petrol mild hybrid with a seven-speed automatic direct-shift gearbox (DSG)
3) A 2.0 TSI 190 PS petrol with seven-speed automatic gearbox (DSG) and 4Motion (all-wheel drive). This engine is exclusive to the Golf Mk8 Black Edition
As is customary with Volkswagen's Black Edition models, this latest addition represents remarkable value for money. The additional features included, when compared to the R-Line, would typically set you back £2,900, but the Golf Black Edition comes in at a mere £1,500 more.
Having features such as improved alloys, a Black Style package on the exterior and a rear-view camera makes this seriously good value. As standard, the Black Edition does come with the 10.25-inch infotainment system, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, keyless GO and dynamic road sign display.
With starting recommended retail prices commencing at £31,985 (inclusive of VAT and on-road costs), the Golf Black Edition promises to be an enticing proposition for those seeking a fusion of style, performance, and exclusivity in their automotive choice.
